Looking Ahead to 2014 and Beyond: Four Questions to Ponder
As we prepare to close the book on 2013, remember to spend some time preparing for the New Year and considering what opportunities and obstacles will present themselves in 2014.
We all know that planning should be a year-round process but we also know that hectic schedules have a habit of getting in the way. Many of us don't successfully carve out that time during the year that is so important to (1) sustaining and (2) growing our businesses.
Here are some simple questions to ask yourself (and then act upon):
- What Opportunities do I have to increase my Revenue for 2014 and beyond?
- What one or two things can I do Today to begin the process of taking advantage of those Opportunities?
- What Obstacles do I need to overcome in order to sustain my current Revenue?
- What Obstacles could keep me from increasing my Revenue in 2014 and beyond?
These are obviously over-simplified questions that will take some time to answer and act upon (and will force you to consider other issues as well).
It will be time well spent because it will force you to learn more about your business.
