Next Week Is National Small Business Week
The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) has announced that registration is now open for National Small Business Week, which will take place in cities around the country from May 4 through 8.
This year's theme is "SBA: Dream Big. Start Small." Activities will include forums and panels discussing trends and issues in small business, networking opportunities, and awards ceremonies.
Events scheduled around the country
Conferences will take place in cities nationwide, concluding in Washington, DC, on May 8, where the 2015 National Small Business Person of the Year will be honored. Candidates from around the country are competing for the top spot. In addition, the top finalists in the InnnovateHER competition will make two-minute pitches on their products and services in front of a panel of expert judges, vying for cash prizes ranging from $5,000 to $15,000. InnovateHER recognizes entrepreneurs who develop products and services designed to enhance the lives of women and their families.
Entrepreneurs will find many opportunities to network and explore issues that confront small business managers. The schedule is as follows:
- May 4: Miami/Boca Raton
- May 5: Los Angeles
- May 6: San Antonio
- May 7: New York City
- May 8: Washington, DC
